A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program is a weekly share of our harvest. Through this program you and your family can be assured that your produce is only of the highest quality.
A CSA is one of the best ways to support your local agriculture. You get to know who your produce comes from and know exactly where your produce is from. At Niemczyk's, we take pride in being herbicide and pesticide free. Through this program we are able to minimize waste and continue to provide our community with only our best produce.
Our full produce season begins in June and runs until October. That's about 16 weeks of fresh vegetables! Our peak season (when the most abundant harvests are) is from about mid-July through mid-September.
*Please keep in mind that this is all dependent on weather. We may experience droughts, early frosts, and any other kind of natural act! We do our very best in still ensuring you have a bountiful share each week, but sometimes the weather just gets the best of us.
Each week we provide you with the freshest, in-season produce. We try to provide you with a variety, so you aren't getting the same produce week after week. Each week you can expect 7-14 different types of produce and herbs. Most of the produce are things that are common to most people, however we do grow some things that may be new to you!
Here are just a few of the items you can expect by season:
Early Season - Radishes, Sweet Peas, Spring Onions, Lettuce, Kohlrabi, Herbs, Spinach, Broccoli, Zucchini, Tomatoes, Cabbage, and more!
Mid Season - Green Beans, Zucchini, Potatoes, Broccoli, Cabbage, Green Peppers, Hot Peppers, Sweet peppers, Tomatoes, Eggplant, Cucumbers, Melons, Sweet Corn, Herbs and more!
Late Season - Squash, Cabbage, Dried Onions, Carrots, Fall Greens, Beets, SPinach, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, and more!
For a complete list of our produce, see below.
Instead of us pre-packing your box, like other CSA programs, you will have the opportunity to pick which items you want for the week. We have a large walk-in cooler where you will enter and choose the vegetables that best suit your needs. This way if you want to try new things, you can, but if you don't like to experiment you can just choose the produce you know and love. We are hoping this will eliminate waste and excess at your home.
In the past we chose what was in each box each week but the boxes were never big enough for all the items we wanted to give you. You will have a lot of choices of different vegetables that are in season. You can just take a few that you love, or you can take your portion of all that is available.
Once you sign up for our program, you can expect to get an email from us a week or two prior to our start. This will inform you when the program is going to start as well as ask you which days you would like to schedule for your pickup. We ask that you try to choose the day that best works for you and try to stick to it, however we do understand that the summer is busy for everyone! If you need to change your day, just let us know at least 48 hours in advance. We ask for the notice because we pick your share the morning of your pickup day to ensure you get it as fresh as possible!
Days and times of pickups are as follows:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays
12:00pm to 7:00pm.
Small Share: This share is enough to feed 1-2 people.
Medium Share: This share is enough to feed 2-4 people.
Large Share: This share is enough to feed 4-6 people.
In the past 47 years that we have been growing our vegetable farm, we have never encountered huge issues as mentioned above. But we do feel the need to disclose this information if in fact something substantial might happen.
Thank you for your understanding!!
We look forward to having you as part of our family!
Joe and Sandy Niemczyk
